The Story of the Son(Makardhwaja) of Lord Hanuman.
Lord Hanuman is the son ofAnjana (a female monkey). Anjana was actually a nymph namedPunjikasthala, but due to a curse she had to be born as a female monkey in earth. He was a devotee of Lord Rama. Hanuman is the best known for his role in Ramayana Hanuman is considered to be an avatar (incarnation) ofLord Shiva.
Hanuman Son Story:
When Hanuman took a dip in the water of sea, after burning the whole of Lanka with the fire burning on his tail, a drop of his periphery fell into a mighty fish. Out of theMakardhwajawas born.
After setting Lanka on fire,Lord Hanumanflew off from the blazing city, his tail still inflamed. As he was feeling too hot, he decided to take a dip in the sea water. Here a drop of his perfection fell into the mighty Makara.
This Makara or fish was caught by the fishermen in the kingdom ofAhiravana, the king of inferno. When the Makar was cut open, a monkey face was found. Ahirvana saw his power and named him Makardhwaj, the guardian of inferno.
Later When Lord Ram was fighting against a war againstRavan,Ahiravana cast a spell on Ram and Lakshman and took them into the inferno. Hanuman followed them. But at the gates of inferno he was challenged by Makardhwaj who introduced himself as son of Hanuman.
Hanuman was most amused On his point, the guard narrated the story of his father and asked blessings from his father. However, Hanuman still had to fight a duel and defeat him to get in inferno to get Lord Ram and Lakshman. On his return and on Ram’s Advice, Hanuman appointed Makardhawaj as the new king of Inferno.
