Annapurna Jayantiis celebrated on the full moon day of Margashirsha month.
According to Pandit Ganesh Mishra of Kashi Hindu University, Mata Parvati took the form of Annapurna on this date. This year it is on 12 December. According to the scriptures, there is never a shortage of food and money in the family on this day by worshiping the stove etc. in the kitchen. Although food should never be disrespected, but special care should be taken on this day. It is believed that worshiping kitchen, stove etc. on this day never reduces the wealth of the house and the grace of the Goddess always remains.
Mata Annapurna Pooja method:
is the goddess of food. Therefore, on this day the kitchen should be kept clean and the house should be purified by spraying Ganga water.
After this, worship the cooking stove by burning turmeric, kumkum, rice, flowers, incense and lamps. After this, worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva in the kitchen as well.
Worshiping the mother Annapurna in the kitchen itself with the above method, pray that, O mother, there should always be food in our family.
After worshiping, definitely feed the food made in your home to the poor.
How Annapurna Mata was born:
It is believed that at a time when water and food began to run out on the earth, causing chaos all around, humans started worshiping Lord Brahma and Vishnu for freedom from the problem of food.
Hearing the compassion of humans, Shri Brahma Dev and Shri Vishnu worshiped Lord Shiva and woke him with yoga posture.Lord Shiva visited the earth and after this Mata Parvati took Annapurna form and Lord Shiva took the form of monk.
Lord Shiva took alms from Mata Annapurna and distributed it among the people of the earth. Since then, the people of the earth along with all the gods started worshiping the mother Annapurna.
The day Mother Annapurna was born, it was the full moon of Margashirsha month. That is why Annapurna Jayanti is celebrated on Margashirsha Purnima. On this day, food donation has special significance.
