First time, Father’s Day was celebrated on 19 June 1910 in America by Ms. Sonora Smart was celebrated to honor Dodd’s father. Sonora’s father Williams Smart was a planet war veteran. Williams Smart’s wife died while giving birth to their 6th child.

After the death of his wife, he single-handedly raised his 6 children by raising them. After Williams Smart died, her daughter Sonora wanted Father’s Day to be celebrated on the day her father Williams died that is june 5.

But due to some reasons this day was shifted to the third Sunday of June. Since then, people all over the world celebrate Father’s Day on the third Sunday of June.

According to the second story “Father’s Day story”, Father’s Day was first celebrated in America on July 5, 1908 in Fairmont City, Virginia StateState in memory of 361 men who died in a coal mine explosion in December 1907.

Apart from these, many other stories are hidden which are considered to be the reason for celebrating Father’s Day, but this 2 story is the most popular.

Later, in 1972, Father’s Day was officially recognized as a national holiday during the reign of President Nixon.
