1. Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand:

Holi in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh is calledPhaguwa.


Many cities here have the practice of playing Lathmar Holi with colorful Holi.LathmarHoli is played especially in Mathura, Nandgaon, Gokul, Vrindavan and Barsana.

4. Haryana and Punjab:

Holi in Haryana is known asDulandi or Dhulendi. Holi is called ‘Hola Mohalla‘ in Punjab. During Holi in Haryana, Bhabhis beat their devars and their brothers are in the habit of dyeing them all day. At the same time, ‘Hola Mohalla‘ is organized at Anantapur Sahib on the next day of Holi in Punjab. 7. Manipur and Assam:

In Manipur it is calledYoshang or Yaosang. The day of Dhulendi here is calledPichkari. Assam calls it ‘Phakuwah’ or ‘Deol‘. Holi is also celebrated in Tripura, Nagaland, Sikkim and Meghalaya. This festival of colors is celebrated in Manipur for 6 days. Also, the traditional dance ‘Thabal Chongba‘ is also organized here on this festival.

8. Uttarakhand and Himachal:

Holi is celebrated as a different type of music festival, which is calledsitki Holi, Khadi Holi and Mahila Holi. Here Kumauni Holi Holi Famous Kumauni Holi is played in three ways. First sitting Holi, second standing Holi and third female Holi. From the day ofBasant Panchami, Holiyars sing Holi from house to house every evening and this festival lasts for about 2 months.
